Brilliant Energy Science and Technology Lab (BEST Lab)

Highlights: BEST Lab focuses on the development of next-generation sustainable energy systems with a low carbon footprint. Through interdisciplinary and crossdisciplinary innovation in energy research, the laboratory is committed to becoming a world-class forefront energy research facility. Research topics include highly interdisciplinary fields such as renewable and green energy generation, solar energy conversion and utilization, photovoltaic and solar thermal technologies, self-powered devices and systems, nanogenerators, battery safety and intelligence, digital energy, power usage effectiveness of data center, thermal management of power batteries and power electronic devices, bioinspired energy, energy storage and safety, advanced wireless battery charging, electric vehicles, smart green buildings, carbon capture and storage technologies, and more.

Center for EDA Research (CEDAR)

The research center includes over 20 professors from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and has long maintained good partnerships with professors from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and related enterprises. Its core members have developed and opened up over 16 EDA tools.

We enable green material technologies by harnessing our cross-disciplinary expertise in electro-optics, energy, enzyme, element-control and engineering.
